Lauren Alaina Opens Up About Her Father’s Struggles and Legacy
Lauren Alaina shared an emotional message with fans, reflecting on the loss of her father, J.J. Suddeth, on what would have been his 13th year of sobriety. In a tearful video, the country star revealed that while it was incredibly difficult for her to speak about, she felt it was important to honor her dad’s memory and be transparent about his struggles.
“Today would’ve been his 13th year of sobriety if he had made it,” Alaina said through tears. “He passed away a little over a year ago, but he didn’t make it to his 12th year either, and I’m not even sure about his 11th. He relapsed, and it’s a major contributing factor to why he’s no longer here with us.”
Suddeth tragically passed away in July 2024, leaving behind a legacy that continues to influence his daughter’s life and music
Carrying the weight of her father’s loss, Alaina used the video to speak directly to anyone battling similar demons, offering a message of compassion and support.
“If you’re struggling, there are so many people who love you,” she said earnestly. “Love yourself enough to get the help you need. Surround yourself with people who truly care about you.
